In a post shared by @TheNeighborhoodTalk on Instagram, Rowland can be seen on the stage of the “Boy Is Mine” tour, asking the audience for help with the lyrics to her verse in Destiny’s Child’s hit, “Cater 2 U.”

As the instrumental played, Rowland laughed along with the audience before attempting to get back on track; however, social media clips show she struggled through the rest of the song with pitchy vocals, leaving the crowd stunned.

In one clip, one attendee could be heard saying, “Oop, she forgot her verse!”

And the audience wasn’t the only ones with critical comments, as social media users also shared their thoughts on the fiasco, calling Rowland out for seemingly being unprepared.

While several users joked about the moment, insisting that Rowland wouldn’t have fumbled over her part had Beyoncé been on stage, others were more stern in their critique, slamming the “Voice” alum and accusing her of not taking her work seriously.

“This tour ghetto [as f-ck],” one user wrote. “This specific moment was cringey AF! Brandy don’t know how to sing WITH Monica either. She be doing wayyyy too much on her end.” Another user wrote, “Ain’t no way. I still love my girl, but come on now…”

“She sounds awful,” a third wrote, while another insisted they should’ve waited to purchase their tickets “on clearance” because the acts are “playin on this tour.”

Rowland’s performance evoked such a strong reaction from some users because it came a day after Brandy’s abrupt exit from the United Center during the second night of her and Monica’s show in Chicago.

As previously reported by The Blast, Brandy left the stage mid-song after admitting to struggling with her vocals. A video shows the 46-year-old singing to the crowd before turning around and heading off stage, causing several users to criticize the “Moesha” star’s professionalism.

“That was so unprofessional, and regardless of the sound finish, the song. I like Brandy, but come on, Queen, you’ve been in the game too long to act like that,” one fan wrote.

Several hours later, Brandy addressed the mishap with a lengthy social media post and told her fans that she left the stage after experiencing “dehydration and feelings of wanting to faint.”

Before Rowland joined Brandy and Monica’s tour, the singer and mother of two reunited with her Destiny’s Child bandmates during the final night of Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour, singing the hits “Bootylicious” and “Lose My Breath.”

The trio graced the stage in matching gold ensembles and strutted down the catwalk, interacting with thousands of loyal fans in Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.

The last time the group performed together was in 2018 during Beyoncé’s historic Coachella performance, where they sang “Soldier” and “Say My Name.”

She referenced her infamous trip-and-fall catastrophe during a 2004 performance on the BET show “106 & Park.”

“I was trying to stay focused because y’all know I’m still … I have trauma from falling on 106 & Park,” she said. “I need y’all to be my therapist about that, too. Because every time I perform with the girls, it’s in my head.”
