Christina Haack Blames Expensive Divorce For Wardrobe Frugality

Nevertheless, this is not the HGTV star’s first rodeo. In February, cameras captured Haack confiding to a friend that she would never have gotten involved with him if she could do it over. 

Christina Haack and Josh Hall ended their nearly three-year marriage in July 2024 after he filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. 

Haack kept it real with fans this week, revealing that her ongoing divorce has her thinking twice about how much she spends, especially on clothes.

In a recent Instagram Story, the star shared a photo of herself at what appeared to be a network-related event, judging by the black-and-white backdrop featuring both HGTV and the title of her show, “The Flip-Off.”

Haack stood out in a sleek black mini dress with long sleeves, paired with knee-high boots. But it was not just the outfit turning heads, it was the price tag.

Paying for this divorce hasn’t been cheap, so I’ve been trying to cut down on my spending, especially when it comes to clothes. This dress was cute and only $65,” she wrote in the caption. 

She closed with a white heart emoji and linked to the Nordstrom page where she bought the outfit.

Haack did not hold back when it came to airing out frustrations over her split from Hall, both online and on screen. The Blast reported that one of the most pointed moments aired during the February 26 episode of her show, when Haack told her friend Cassie she deeply regretted marrying him.

“If I would’vereally understood the repercussions of all this, I would’ve gotten a prenup, or I wouldn’t have married him,” Haack said on camera. She also accused Hall of dragging out the divorce for financial gain, telling Cassie, “He wants to retire off me.”

During the episode, Cassie had visited Haack’s Newport Beach home and noticed a pile of quad bikes and ATVs in the garage. When asked where they came from, Haack responded, “Tennessee, sweetie,” referring to her Leiper’s Fork property.

That home had made headlines after she listed it for sale, only for Hall to object. He reportedly argued that they had agreed he would remain in the home during the divorce. Property records later showed the listing had been pulled, suggesting his pushback worked.

Haack explained in the confessional segment why her garage was packed with things from her Tennessee property, saying, “With everything going on and the fact that I’m not spending any time there anymore, I decided it was time to get all my stuff out of the house.”

In a previous episode, she offered an update on her messy divorce when her contractor, Michael Lange, asked about upcoming court dates. Haack claimed proceedings were delayed due to a financial demand from Hall, stating:

“Court? Oh, it got postponed because he made a horrible offer. He asked for $3.5 million from me.”

Haack had also accused Hall of trying to cash in on the split, including claims that he once requested $65,000 monthly in spousal support.

Haack’s new relationship with Chris Larocca hit some turbulence after his ex-girlfriend publicly questioned when the couple first got together. The Blast reported that Andrea Deanna, Larocca’s former partner, raised doubts about the timeline of Haack’s romance with the businessman. 

Her comments stirred up a flurry of speculation, forcing both Haack’s and Larocca’s teams to respond. Haack’s camp pushed back hard, noting, “This person continues to make false allegations and spread lies. Christina was separated when she met Chris.”

Larocca’s rep also rejected the claims, stating his client ended things with Deanna before starting anything with Haack. He added, “Any statement that they met in June is untrue.”

The 41-year-old made her new relationship with the tech executive official on-screen when he appeared in her HGTV series season finale.

Larocca joined Haack’s inner circle at a watch party held at her Newport Beach home. Friends, family, and her children gathered to see how she fared in a head-to-head real estate challenge against her ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa, and his wife, Heather.

Though Larocca kept a low profile during the event, staying close to the group but not engaging directly with Haack, his presence marked a clear shift in their relationship status.
